Shop Miss A is an online store that stocks cosmetics and accessories for the ridiculously low price of $1.00 USD each. Literally everything on the site is $1.00 USD. So if you’re a bit of a bargain hunter, want to try some new colours or just love trying new makeup brands – this is the website for you.
We’ve seen Shop Miss A on a few blogs and Youtube, and our friend Sam from PlanetBakeLife has made a couple of orders in the past and has always been impressed with the products – so we figured it was about time that we did an order of our own!
There are so many different products to choose from that actually deciding on what to get was the hardest part! In the end, we chose 6 lipsticks, 8 eyeshadows, 5 blushes, 2 pairs of falsies, an eye brush, mascara, all over colour stick and a bronzer. That’s 25 products for $25.00 USD… it blows my mind. Seriously. Where else could you get that kind of deal?!
With almost every colour lipstick you could possibly want, this is definitely the place to try a shade you’re not too sure about. We played it safe though, and decided to try some different shades of pinks – just to get a feel for the brands.
We love the Elf products we’ve tried in the past, so it made sense to try the Elf Essential Lipstick in Seductive. It’s a muted coral based nude that applies quite smoothly, but takes a couple of coats to get a nice opaque lip. My only complaint would be the packaging, which feels a little on the cheap side.
When we saw the Santee Color Revolution Lipsticks, we just had to add a couple for the novelty factor alone. Look at the leopard print packaging!! Pigmentation wise, these need a couple of coats to get an opaque lip. They’re quite creamy though, and have a strong sweet scent. Not bad!
Kleancolor seems to be one of the most popular brands on Shop Miss A, so we grabbed the Madly Matte Lipstick in Sakura to try. It has great pigmentation, but to me seems to have more of a satin finish than a matte. Still a lovely shade to pick up.
The Rich On Princessa Creamy Matte Lipstick in Tiara is probably my favourite of the bunch when it comes to pigmentation, and the packaging feels better than the others too. If you’re looking for great quality cheap lipsticks, check these ones out first.
Lastly we grabbed the Kleancolor Master Strokes Long Wear Satin Jumbo Lip Stick in the shade 03 Pink Beige. It’s a muted pink that is quite pigmented and applies smoothly, and because it’s in a pencil form it’s really easy to apply. Bare in mind that this has a strong candy/lolly scent. Kinda smells like those nerds lollies, so if that doesn’t bother you – go nuts!
In my opinion it’s always hard to find affordable eyeshadows that are good quality, so that was one of the first things I wanted to test out. 2 of the eyeshadows we grabbed are to be used as highlighters, so we’ll talk about those later – but for now, here’s a breakdown of the others.
The Rich On City Girl Eyeshadow Trio in Toyko contains 3 neutral shades that are very pigmented. There’s an eggshell, mid tone brown and dark brown and all 3 have a shimmer finish that is actually really gorgeous. So impressed!
I wasn’t as impressed by the Elf Essential Brightening Eye Color in Butternut. It’s definitely less pigmented than the Tokyo trio, but is still a nice eyeshadow quad – it would just take a bit of layering to get the same level of colour payoff. Still for $1.00 USD, it’s pretty good!
The Amuse Pressed Eyeshadow Pigments definitely stole the limelight. How are these only $1.00 USD each?! This is ridiculous. These are very similar to the L’Oreal Color Infallible Eyeshadows, but a fraction of the price. Pigmentation is incredible, blendability is amazing, I just can’t believe these are so affordable. The 2 shades we have are Purple Love & Brownies. So pretty!
The Kleancolor American Eyecon Baked Eyeshadow in Terracotta is gorgeous! It’s a warm toned brown that is nicely pigmented when dry, and more intense when wet. Seriously beautiful, I’m keen to check out some other shades in the range.
I’ll admit it, I chose the Kleancolor Airy Minerals Loose Powder Eyeshadow in Never Say Never because of the name. I wasn’t expecting it to have quite a matte finish though, I have to say! It’s nicely pigmented and is actually a really nice shade but I’m not a fan of the packaging which allows the pigment itself to go everywhere (as I’ve found with a lot of brands, both high and low end). I would probably depot this into a more user-friendly container.
We also picked up the Elf Essential Smudge Brush, and while it’s definitely not as good as the Elf Essential Blending Eye Brush (which I already own) I think it’s pretty decent for the price – and does actually work well at smudging eyeshadow.
The blushes were the main thing I wanted to check out on Shop Miss A and there was certainly plenty to choose from!
I knew straight away that I had to try the Kleancolor Ms. Chick Blushes and chose Tangerine and Mauve. The shade names describe the colours perfectly, and the pigmentation is insane. Seriously so impressed with these, and definitely tempted to collect the rest of them!
The Rich On Heart Mosaic Blush in Soft Pink is so cute. The packaging is on the cheap side, but the product itself is really quite nice! It’s more light and shimmery than I anticipated though, and would actually make a much better pink-toned highlighter than a blush in my opinion.
The Rich On Princessa Tru Fusion Blush in Rose Pink is another gorgeous, pigmented blush that applies really nicely. The only downside to this is the fact that the packaging isn’t the best. My suggestion would be to depot it into a Z Palette or something, because it really is a great quality product.
Like the Tru Fusion Blush, the packaging of the Rich On Rose Cheek Pop Blush in Orchid isn’t the greatest. But it is definitely worth getting because this is one gorgeously pigmented product! Love the cute rose pattern on the blush itself too – I will surely be depotting this into a Z Palette.
Highlighters and Bronzer
These Rich On Magic Finish Luminizing Eyeshadows in the shades #2 and #4 were bought with the intention of using them as face highlighters, and they are actually AMAZING. If they’re not sold out (which they often are!) I would definitely recommend picking up both of these shades as they are absolutely stunning, and remind me of MAC Mineralized Skinfinishes (at a crazy $1.00 USD a piece?!)
The Elf Essential All Over Color Stick in Spotlight can be used all over the eyes, lips and face – but because of the dewy finish, I would probably stick to using it on the cheeks and in the centre of the lips. I definitely think this is a nice product if you’re wearing minimal makeup, but if you’re into a full face of makeup, I would use this as a base before powder highlighter.
The Kleancolor Tanned RAWR Matte Bronzer in Fiji is incredibly pigmented, matte and is perfect for contouring or adding warmth to the face. Perfect for the warmer months, I would definitely grab this if you’re thinking about trying a new bronzer.
I figured for $1.00 USD, there was no harm in trying a new mascara so I chose the Kleancolor Lash Bow-Tux Volumizing Mascara because it had pretty good reviews on the site, but I haven’t actually tried it yet – so will update you guys with a full review once I’ve used it!
The Kara Eyelashes in 009 and 415 are both so gorgeous, and they have a really thin band which I love as personally I find thicker bands tend to lift up in the corners a lot easier throughout the day. They’re great quality and for that price, it’s definitely worth buying them in bulk!
And that’s our huge Shop Miss A haul. As I stated above, all up it cost $25.00 USD (plus $9.95 USD for shipping). Out of all the products we got, I think the real standouts were the Amuse Pressed Eyeshadow Pigments, Rich On Magic Finish Luminizing Eyeshadows and the Kleancolor Ms. Chick Blushes – although I have to say that we’re pretty thrilled with everything.
Have you checked out Shop Miss A? What’s the best bargain-buy you’ve found?
