Antipodes are famous for their fabulous skincare line, but what’s their makeup like? We were sent 6 of the new Antipodes Moisture-Boost Natural Lipsticks to try, and can’t wait to share our thoughts.
The Antipodes Moisture-Boost Natural Lipsticks* (RRP: $37.00 NZD) have been inspired by the incredible scenery of New Zealand, and come in 12 gorgeous shades. Formulated with natural ingredients such as avocado pear, calendula flower, evening primrose seed, argan nut, beeswax, shea butter, jojoba oil and Vitamin E – these lipsticks are almost good enough to eat. Each one is creamy and moisturising, with a subtle shine. They’re very comfortable on the lips and despite being so creamy, they’re reasonably long lasting.
The 6 shades we have are South Pacific Coral, Queenstown Hot Chocolate, Remarkably Red, Oriental Bay Plum, Piha Beach Tangerine and Forest Berry Red. South Pacific Coral is a gorgeous true coral shade that is very opaque and pretty. It’s definitely one of my favourite shades so far, it’s just so bright and cheery. Perfect for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere who are heading into Spring.
Queenstown Hot Chocolate is a warm, peach-toned nude and is seriously gorgeous. If you’re a nude lipstick lover, you will probably need this in your life. Peach-toned nudes are one of my favourites, and this is one I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of.
Remarkably Red is a name that confuses me a little, as in my opinion there is nothing red about this. It’s definitely more of a muted plum in my opinion, but is absolutely gorgeous regardless. Definitely one worth adding to your collection if you’re a fan of mauves and plums.
If you’re after more of a true plum, then Oriental Bay Plum is the one for you. It’s a little less pigmented than the others, but is easily built up to a gorgeously opaque colour.
Another gorgeous bright in the range is the Piha Beach Tangerine lipstick. This stunning orange has incredible colour pay off, and is crazy bright. Bold lip fans will go nuts over this one, it’s such a striking shade.
Last but not least is Forest Berry Red. It’s a warm-toned true red that applies like a dream. Everyone needs a red in their collection, so why not have one that’s all natural?
Overall I’ve been really impressed by the Antipodes Moisture-Boost Natural Lipsticks. When we think of natural makeup, we don’t often think we’ll be able to enjoy gorgeous bright shades – but Antipodes have really proved us wrong with these. They’re completely vegetarian too, which we think is really awesome.
