As soon as I saw the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette, it immediately went to the top of my wishlist. I am just such a fan of all the products that Jaclyn Hill is a part of.
Let me start off by saying that if you’re in New Zealand, just wait for Beauty Bay to get it in. The shipping on the Morphe website is actually ridiculous, and if I hadn’t used the money in my Paypal to cover it – we wouldn’t be talking about this palette at all!
The Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette (RRP: $38.00 USD) contains 35 shadows in a mix of shimmers, duochromes, metallics and mattes. The majority of the shades are very warm toned, but there’s a few cool toned shades in the palette too. Plus a stunning purple, beautiful blue and a few greens thrown in the mix.
It’s not often that I actually fall for a palette straight away, but as soon as I swatched a few shades I knew that splashing out on this had been a great choice. The vast majority of the shades swatch beautifully, are very pigmented and blend like a dream.
So far I haven’t discovered a shadow in this palette that I don’t like, but I have to be honest when I say that I haven’t worn them all yet. But that is the goal, I plan to use every single shadow in this palette and share the looks on instagram. So if you’re not already, make sure you’re following us: http://www.instagram.com/makeuppernz
The packaging itself isn’t my favourite. I don’t own any other Morphe palettes so maybe they’re all like this, but to me it feels a bit flimsy. I also don’t really like white eyeshadow palettes, because as pretty as they are, they get absolutely filthy in no time at all. I also don’t understand why the shade names aren’t on the palette anywhere? Instead I got a little card with them on there, which I’ll no doubt lose at some point in time.
Despite the less than perfect packaging, I really do feel like this could become one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes. It has a mixture of transition shades, beautiful smokey shades, and brights that I would actually use regularly. When using this, you don’t need to reach for another shadow to complete your look. All you need is this!
Have you picked up the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette yet? If not, will you be getting it?
