The Bourjois liquid lipsticks are some of the best, but we’ve never tried any of their regular lipsticks before. Given that the Rouge Velvets are so amazing, we were super excited to hear about the new Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick.
Available in 8 shades, the Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick* (RRP: $29.00 NZD) is everything a matte lipstick should be. They glide on smoothly and pigmented and last for at least 6 hours on me. It says they can last up to 24 hours, but I honestly think that’s a strange claim. Lipstick will always come off after eating and drinking to some degree, no matter how long lasting it is. Regardless, these are fantastic. And if you have to top them up after a meal, is it really a big deal?
We have 3 of the 8 lipsticks available: 02 Flaming’rose, 06 Abrico’dabra! and 07 Joli carmin’ois. 02 Flaming’rose is a beautiful rosy nude, that I am seriously loving. It’s definitely a very “me” shade and is one I will get a lot of use out of.
06 Abrico’dabra is a soft, fresh peach shade that is absolutely gorgeous. It’s definitely not the kind of shade that I would normally choose for myself but I am actually loving it. Such a pretty shade for Summer!
Lastly, 07 Joil carmin’ois (I’m not even trying to pronounce these names by the way) is a stunning orange toned red. I’ve stated before that I prefer blue toned reds, but even I have to admit that this is really pretty. It’s so creamy for a matte lipstick too, it just glides on effortlessly.
Overall I’m really impressed with the Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick. The bullets are an interesting shape too, at first I thought it’d make the lipstick a little more difficult to apply. But having the thinner edge on one side is actually such a good way to ensure that you get a nice sharp line. And the pigmentation as I said earlier, is just so good. You really only need one swipe to get an opaque lip.
The Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick is available in selected Farmers stores now.
It seems Bourjois can do no wrong at the moment! What’s your favourite Bourjois product??
